" HAIL TO PRIORSFORD'
The Buchans in Peebles and Tweeddale

Lady Deborah Stewartby.

The talk will cover the history of the Buchan family in Peebles and, as I see it, their importance to the town and its importance to them over nearly two hundred years.

Lady Stewartby is the granddaughter of John Buchan and great neice of Walter Buchan and O. Douglas.  She remembers visiting Bank House as a small girl and has retained links with, and a great affection for, the town of Peebles since then. She and her husband live in her great grandmother's house in Broughton and she has worked tirelessly to secure the future of the John Buchan Museum (which will, hopefully, re-open in the Chambers Institution within a few weeks) since it lost its home in Broughton.
